New Year’s Resolution
At
the dawn of mostly every year we make promises to each other or to ourselves.
“I will do that….”; “I will stop doing this….”; “We will do that……”; “We will
stop criticizing….”; “I will Stop eating junk food….” so on and so forth. We
put up bench marks that we have to meet on a daily basis so that results will
come within a month or two. But most of the time these decisions put a weight
on our shoulders all of a sudden that it is too much to beer.
Let’s
think of it this way, Imagine if you are going to the gym. You don’t start on
all the high end equipment on the first day itself you warm up 1st
then you start small with lower weight and smaller numbers in sets. Then we
slowly move up the weights and numbers.
Let’s take some resolutions shall we; 1) I will stop
eating junk food and follow a vegetarian diet rich in fiber and nutrients. 2) I
will run 3km daily 3) I will master coding within the next two months 4) I will
build up my body
If
I take all these resolution, probably I will try all of them at once, many
after the first two days I will drop one. Then dial down the rest after four or
five days then drop them all at once after one and a half weeks or so. Completely
forget about them after a month.
I
don’t believe that the idea of a resolution was ever introduced to make hard
and fast decisions to get results fast, I think they were kick starters,
usually people hesitate to take the 1st step, the words new year’s
resolution together with friends or family or in a quality ‘Me Time, might help
in kick starting something new.
I
see people loosing hope in resolutions because they make resolutions that are
actually target to hit. These targets like body building, health, growth in
profession, learning a skill set, all that are things that take time to get in
hand and see result. But we expect results within the fort night.
Try this out for instance instead of choosing a target choose how to reach there. Instead of saying you will build your body up or will do this many hours of gym work out, say something like, “……I will work out more….”. Instead of saying I will master this skill within this time, go for, “I will learn a little more every day”

Resolutions
are motivations, when you hear a motivational speech and you run toward your
goal, you will get exhausted within a quarter mile maybe, Try walking takes
time that is true, but it will get you to you goal with energy to spare.
Let’s take those resolutions that I took earlier
maybe in a better way…You might be able to find even better ones you go with,
Here is my way; I will add healthy meals also to my
diet; I start with slight exercising, regularly; I will learn a little more
every day.
Resolution
are not a necessity for life to improve they do help, if you need a kick start.
You can take decisions at any time of the year and improve on your life. New
Year’s Eve is just common factor among many people. If all at once is too much
spread it out throughout the year. That way you can also get a sustained growth
throughout the year. What you decide is entirely up to you.
Weather you take them all at once or weather you
take one at a time, Hope you take a step forward in life
Comment your new year’s resolution and how you will
take them. Lets Grow together
